JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Responsibilities:
- Create / Implement / Support comprehensive commodity strategies.
- Solve complex problems important to the success of the organization and draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership / best price, OTD, Lead-Times, Customer Satisfaction, and Quality. Create a total cost of ownership model, which includes the entire supply chain from sub-supplier, material, logistics, and other variables.
- Apply a robust RFx strategic sourcing methodology and negotiate supplier agreements / contracts for goods and services
- Manage the supplier development process partnering with appropriate resources in Supplier Quality, Engineering, Operations, etc.
- Works with commodity management, demand planning, S&OP, and scheduling to ensure supply base is able to execute on forecasted demand, and all required performance levels. Expediting as necessary
- Responsible for building and maintaining the supplier scorecard, and driving continuous improvements in the supplier scores.
- Build strong relationship with our suppliers, which includes a development program, and lines of communication
- Collaborates with divisional factory purchasing teams. Recommends and maintains an organizational design that is responsive to customer needs, flexible, efficient, and aligned with the achievement of overall business objectives
- Cost analysis (prices and total landed costs) with the intention of benchmarking the marketplace. Lead Market Analysis that includes economic situation, history, forecast by region.
- Assess internal & external client requirements from a strategic perspective and translate those requirements into a supplier base that meets all client expectations and future needs.
- Work effectively with internal and supplier personnel at all levels, including senior management.
- Demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, team development and collaboration.
- Lead cross functional teams for identified projects.
- Measure impact. Monitors and controls budgets through the planned period to ensure that goals are met and variances are controlled.
Position Qualifications:
Required:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an area such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, and or applied experience
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working in a complex supply chain organization
- Experience working with engineered product and technology
- Knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, supplier development, contract development
- Knowledge of the specified commodity areas (PCBA, Machined Parts, Electrical Components, Services, Raw Materials, and Contract Manufacturing)
- Experience working in a matrixed organization supporting senior leadership and functional heads
- Proficient in MS Office applications, Knowledge of enabling technologies such as ERP, Risk, Spend Analytics, and e-Sourcing
- The ability to travel up to 50% of the time, including internationally.
Preferred but not a must:
- Advance degree such as a Master’s degree a plus
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
- Bi-Lingual a plus (English + Mandarin, Cantonese, Korean)
