 A solid US-based, multinational public company considered to be top choice in LASER products – Global scientific instruments / Solid-state lasers for material processing, scientific research …, Motion Control Products primarily used in precision positioning applications, These products are critical in various scientific, industrial, and research applications.

As a Senior Application Engineer for the Motion Control business unit, you will partner with the Sales team to provide technical support throughout the sales process for motion control products, as well as offer technical insights for targeted market and application segments. In this role, you will report to the local Application Engineering Manager.

Responsibilities:
1. Provide Technical Support During the Sales Process:

• Engage in conversations with customers, implement application selling strategies, and effectively gather customer application information, technical requirements, key challenges/pain points, timelines, needs, and budget details.
• Own the technical aspect of opportunities, proactively follow up on statuses and action plans, and drive opportunities forward. Maintain close teamwork with the sales team and ensure efficient information exchange, aligning on action plans.
• Stay informed about the current status and next steps for responsible opportunities. Prioritize tasks, manage your time and resources effectively, and focus on high-priority tasks.
• Collaborate with the Business Unit (BU) to create technical solutions that meet application requirements and present these to customers using value-selling techniques.
• Support field demo qualifications and sample tests in the company lab proactively. Follow established work processes and maintain thorough records.
• Conduct Win/Loss analyses in collaboration with Field Sales Engineers (FSE).

2. Market and Application Segment Knowledge:

• Continuously learn about focused market and application segments, study the current market status and competition, monitor technical trends, and provide technical insights to assist local sales in developing effective sales strategies.
• Study selected market segments or applications to build systematic knowledge that supports effective business development, and generate market study reports.
• Work with the sales team on the development and penetration of green/white customer lists.
• Keep your knowledge of assigned market segments up to date by monitoring industry status and progress through customer visits, industrial conferences, seminars, and public news.

Competence Requirements:

• Solid knowledge in Motion Control and Automation, with a deep understanding of high-precision motion mechanics and automation control concepts.
• Proven experience in technical support and customer engagement.
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, along with excellent skills in product/solution presentations, customer negotiations, and value selling.
• English language, including reading, writing, speaking, and reporting.
• Native level Mandarin language
• Self-motivated, accountable for assigned responsibilities, with a proactive work attitude and a self-driven approach to finding effective ways to move work forward.
• Able to travel up to 50%.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in software programming, including Python, LabVIEW, C, C#, or C++.
