Business Development Manager -
(Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry or products used in vacuum systems, Gyeonggi-Do, South Korea)
MNC with manufacturing plants in USA, South America and China. This MNC is a global provider of instruments, subsystems and process control solutions that measure, control, power, monitor and analyze critical parameters of advanced manufacturing processes to improve process performance and productivity.
The Business Development manager evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
The Business Development Manager defines organizational strategic goals, builds key customer relationships, identifies business opportunities, negotiates and closes business deals and maintains extensive knowledge of current market conditions.
Regularly interacts with senior management on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from, others in sensitive situations, without damage to the relationship.
This position reports to the Senior Product and Business Development Manager and is located in Korea with regular travel throughout Asia.

Position Details:
- Work with the internal departments and subsidiaries to retain and grow business within the existing client base.
- Prospect for new clients and convert into new business by building relationships with key decision makers within the client organisation.
- Develop and maintain a robust opportunity pipeline within the assigned market or geographic area in line with strategic growth targets.
- Forecast sales targets, track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
- Using knowledge of the regional market and customers set list prices that will deliver on revenue and margin growth targets.
- Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Present the 'Voice of the Customer' and work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet these customer needs.
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
- Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company's unique selling propositions and differentiators.
- A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or a relevant Scientific or Engineering discipline with 8 years product and project management experience.
- Strong leadership, technical management and communication (verbal, written, presentation) skills.
- Excellent track record in managing projects for commercial or industrial products in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
- Multi-discipline engineering knowledge.
- Ability to work well across the organization with a strong appreciation for product development and technical teams.
- Experience of Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry or products used in vacuum systems would be a distinct advantage.
- Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation). Excellent spoken and written English skills.
- Strong business orientation, with experience in a commercially challenging setting.
