This MNC is a global provider of instruments, subsystems and process control solutions that measure, control, power, monitor and analyze critical parameters of advanced manufacturing processes to improve process performance and productivity.
Position Summary
The costing manager is responsible for costing function across Taiwan, China and SEAsia including standard costing, variance analysis and inventory valuation. The Role will effectively manage and coordinate all activities related to cost and inventory for all supported sites to ensure that COGS and inventory movements are analyzed and managed for timeliness, completeness and accuracy.
The role will functionally report to the Finance Controller and key customers of the role will be operations and sales business unitsGMs, manufacturing and service team leadersin China and SE Asia region.
Key responsibilities and duties
Responsibility:
· Report to the local controller and accountable for all activities related to costing and inventory.
· Interface with Global Operations finance and BU finance teams to help understand and resolve costing issues.
· Lead costing team to perform manufacturing and product costing related budgeting, standard cost setting, monthly variance reporting and KPI tracking, cost reduction monitoring, monthly forecast and result explanation;
· Working closely with finance and operations managers to understand operating issues, perform monthly review, and come up with actions to follow up, track and monitor monthly performance to make sure it meets budget and cost reduction target;
· Prepare for all cost related report in monthly closing, such as Goods in Transit, inventory aging, E&O, Inventory In/Out, overhead spending, etc.
· Own the inventory accounts on the balance Sheet. Conducts timely reconciliations and ensure maintenance of proper accruals and reserves.
· Reviews and approves physical inventory results, overhead rate reviews and annual standard cost changes. Assist in the setting of transfer prices to affiliated companies.
· Assist Finance Controller on Internal Control Policy & Procedure and profit and cash recovery projects;
· Coaches and trains the costing team in all aspects of the costing procedures and processes. Actively take part in developing direct reports' personal and technical skills.
Qualifications and Skills
· BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
· Minimum of 5 years' progressive cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Global public high tech company preferred.
· Working knowledge of costing in ERP environment. Oracle or SAP preferred.
· Strong analytical skills, self-motivated & initiative, able to work independently;
· High proficiency in Microsoft Office products; with emphasis on Excel
· Displays effective communication skills with all levels of employees, suppliers and management;
· Good command of spoken & written English & Chinese.
