- Excellent opportunity for an Optical Engineer.
- Need to work interactively with Product Development and NPI Engineers to manufacture cutting-edge laser technology products.
- Working in a team environment as well as need to be self-driven with natural leadership skills.
- Needs ambition to learn more in-depth about laser technology and its subsystems will be applied to improve profitability on existing products in our manufacturing facility. We push the boundaries of technology to develop a wide range of nanosecond, picosecond, and femtosecond lasers that address the needs of Industrial, Scientific, and Life and Health markets.
Job Duties:
- Support multiple products to achieve department and company performance goals.
- Provide support to Production and continuously make efforts to improve the current process for cost efficiency and cycle time reduction (5S, Lean).
- Identify, troubleshoot and effectively communicate issues on the manufacturing floor.
- Implement corrective actions in a timely manner for product yield and quality improvements.
- Execute change ECOs (engineering change order) for product improvements. Actively work with cross-functional teams (program managers, planners, buyers and document control) to implement the changes, correctly and independently.
- Collect and report SPC (Statistical Process Control)manufacturing data to upper management.
- Maintain and update manufacturing documentation (assembly and test) for optical, mechanical and electrical designs for fiber and/or solid-state laser systems (system and sub system level).
- Perform periodic maintenance of equipment needed for the manufacturing process (tooling, test fixtures, etc.)
Education and Related Experience:
- Batchelor's degree in Optics or related technical discipline
- 3+ years of experience with assembly and testing of solid-state laser or optical components.
- Experience in the use of laser test equipment, both optical (power meters, spectrometers interferometers, etc.) and electrical (oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, etc.)
- Good understanding of PCB fabrication process and technology.
- Experienced with electrical systems with ability to troubleshoot PCBAs, components and subsystem level.
- Experience in product transition into a volume manufacturing environment.
- Strong commitment to process control and quality.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing procedure and process flow; experience and knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing.
- Proficient in communicating in writing and spoken English and Mandarin.
