JOB TITLE: Finance & Accounting Manager
REPORTS TO: Sr. Financial Controller, Asia.
Dotted line responsibility to the Country Manager
LOCATION: Shanghai, China
PURPOSE STATEMENT
To act as a business partner by providing professional advice, effective and efficient tools in order to add value to the business. Responsible for managing and administrating the organizations’ financial & accounting function which includes budget preparation and maintenance. As a member of the top management in Shanghai, China, with special knowledge in accounting, financial & operational management, contribute to the formulation of overall Company operational strategy and be jointly responsible for achieving agreed company objectives.
The Finance & Accounting Manager will manage a team of accounting and finance professionals. The Finance & Accounting Manager will have responsibility for the following:
1. Timely completion of Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual reporting requirements, on both US GAAP and statutory reporting requirements.
2. Coordination with both internal auditor and local accounting firm for audits and tax preparation work, as necessary.
3. Ensure adequate control environment exists—implement Corporate accounting and control policies and procedures
4. Coordinating and driving Strategic Planning and Annual Planning Processes, including revenue and expense plans, budgets, and capital spending plans, if required.
5. Working with Sales Management to converting monthly sales forecast into a rolling quarter P&L for each product lines and working with the Country Manager to ensure that profitability targets are achieved.
6. Preparing Management Report for Top Management which holds information of ACTUAL vs. BUDGET vs. FORECAST for the local operations with professional advice.
7. Preparing monthly variance analyses, including detailed analyses of manufacturing cost variances, and operating expense variances, to ensure the operations are properly leveraging their cost infrastructure.
8. Preparing capital / investment analyses, including sensitivity analysis, to ensure investments made meet Corporate hurdle requirements
9. Converting the Strategic Plan and Annual Plan into a monthly Profitability Statement, Balance Sheet and Cash Flows Statement
10. To build and develop staffs through clear, open and structured communication and involvement mechanisms in order to encourage identification with the company, its mission, goals and objectives (Winning in Our World).
11. To provide the appropriate office environment including all branch offices and manage company vehicles efficiently.
12. Perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
§ Succeeding in the job requires a relevant University level degree in Finance/Accounting and/or Business administration. 8 years of financial management experience, preferably with a US multinational company. CPA equivalent certification a plus.
§ Experience and profound knowledge of both China GAAP & US GAAP and IFRS as well.
§ Strong analytical skills with proven track record in partnering with a Business Team to drive top-line and bottom-line results. As the scope of the function is wide the ability to organise and prioritise is emphasised. As the Job Holder must work and get along with very different people at all levels negotiation, influencing, communication and presentation skills are necessary.
§ Ability to work in a fast paced environment and willing to “roll-up” their sleeves as required.
§ Organized, disciplined work ethic committed to adhering to deadlines
§ Hyperion Enterprise and ERP system (e.g. SAP) experience preferred.
§ Awareness of all functions and their inter-relation is necessary with strong communication skills
§ Solid knowledge of Budgeting, Taxation, Cost Accounting, Internal Control such as compliance with SOX, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management, Purchasing Control & Accounting knowledge & Tools.
§ Good at Microsoft Office Software
§ Chinese national - Mandarin and English speaking is a must have
