Position / Title: Field Service Engineer
Job Location: Beijing or Shenzhen / Home based
Department: Service
Reports to: Sr. Technical Support Manager
Basic Purpose & Objective of the Position: Provide a general summary of work performed, including major overall end results and the key means by which the end results are achieved. Give an idea of the general nature, purpose, and levels of kill and responsibility found in the position.
As a service engineer for APAC, his / her job includes post-sales product repair, system installation, customer training, on-site troubleshooting. He / She will also need to provide technical support to customer’s pre-sales inquiries and implementation problems during application.
Principal Accountabilities: Summarize the main duties and responsibilities of this job. Indicate essential job functions with an asterisk (*). Assign the percentage of time spent on the duty or task relative to total work time (5% minimum per duty). Percentages should total no more than 100%.
Responsibilities:
λ Support to implement a written territory business strategy. To implement the strategy, the service engineer should be able to conduct following responsibility.
I. Post-sales support
- Field product installation, training, troubleshooting and repair
- Maintain customer relationship via efficient and professional service support
- Address customer’s questions for product applications
II. Pre-sales support
- On-site product demonstration to customer to demonstrate the product performance, show the professional capability and win customer’s confidence, targeting for long-term business development
- Address customer’s pre-sales inquiries in product parameters and applications
III. Marcom support in product demo preparation, attending tradeshow/conference activities.
Scope of supported products: photonics products, including VC table, optics & opto-mech components, photonics instruments.
Knowledge & Skills:
Minimum Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree or above in Physics, Optics, Optical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanics.
Minimum Years of Practical Experience:
Bachelor: At least 3 years work experience in relevant fields
Master: At least 1 years work experience in relevant fields
Other Training, Technical Skills, or Knowledge which are required:
Hands-on experience with optical instruments, either in lab or industry-related work.
Be able to work independently to provide on-site service support to customers
Good team working
Willing to do business travel
Fluent in English writing, oral English can clearly express personal opinion. Fluent in Chinese.
