This MNC is a global provider of instruments, subsystems and process control solutions that measure, control, power, monitor and analyze critical parameters of advanced manufacturing processes to improve process performance and productivity.
Director, HR - Asia - (Korea, Republic of)
The Director of HR for Asia will partner with Corporate HR and senior management by providing best practice expertise in all of the functional areas of HR, including but not limited to: Employee relations, compensation, legal compliance, performance management, employment, safety, and benefits for the MNC operations located in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and China (Shenzhen and Shanghai). Additionally, this person will direct the major initiatives of the Asia HR team to their respective divisions.

Director, HR - Asia - (Korea, Republic of)
The Director of HR for Asia will partner with Corporate HR and senior management by providing best practice expertise in all of the functional areas of HR, including but not limited to: Employee relations, compensation, legal compliance, performance management, employment, safety, and benefits for the MNC operations located in Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan and China (Shenzhen and Shanghai). Additionally, this person will direct the major initiatives of the Asia HR team to their respective divisions.
Position Responsibilities:
- Responsible for counseling and advising management and employees in resolving matters that arise from the work environment that adversely affect performance and productivity
- Ensures consistency with policy interpretation and application
- Provides counsel to senior management regarding established personnel practices, progressive discipline, policy, and employment laws
- Advises on and investigates issues related to working conditions and informal complaints
- Administers the roll-out of corporate HR programs through regular communication with the HR team including safety initiatives, benefits, etc.
- Administers corporate annual compensation and performance planning with the businesses
- Revises HR policies, programs, processes, and guidelines to meet the needs of the organization, to comply with legal requirements, and to promote positive employee relations with approval from Corporate HR
- Ensures compliance with all employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements
- Interacts with internal and external counsel to achieve liability avoidance and, where necessary, to manage litigation and pre-litigation activities
- Remains current on laws and regulations
- BS in related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years, hands-on experience in HR in a manufacturing and technical, multi-international company in a high-growth, fast-paced, environment
- Strategic planning, organizational development and consulting skills and experience to serve as a trusted advisor to the Asian HR team and major business segment leaders
- Experience in the major functions of HR to include compensation, training, employment, employee relations, salary planning, safety, etc.
- Proven ability to handle multiple priorities
- Ability to resolve complex, highly sensitive work related issues
- High-integrity, honesty, detailed-oriented, and excellent team player with a strong work ethic
- Ability to exercise judgment in approach to employee relations issues
- Experience and/or knowledge of a wide range of labor laws impacting the HR arena
- 25% travel between Asia sites, limited domestic travel
- Management experience
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Fluency in English required
Mandarin language is a plus
