Industrial Cost Engineer - China
We are searching for a medium-sized industrial corporation operating worldwide, and they specialize in the development and manufacture of high-quality technology made of plastics and aluminum for the office furniture and automotive industries. Their products have made them an international market leader. We are searching for an Industrial Cost Engineer to work in their Chinese plant.
Assignments
- Ensure that the project starts within the designated projects and production costs by ExAnte/exPost-Value Analysis of Products and Processes, incl. Design to Cost Assessment
- Develop, deploy and utilize best practice approaches, methods & tools and build up core cost orientation capabilities within the production and supporting departments
- Gain cost savings for COMPANY China’s organization as expert, trainer and change agent in developing state of the art for products, supplies, projects and processes in the plant
- Lead project teams to realize technical cost saving projects in products and manufacturing processes through continuous improvement approach
- Develop companywide KPI system to stimulate improvements and show the plant’s performance, also in cooperation with the HR department for the bonus calculation
Requirements
- Successfully completed studies as Industrial Engineer/Master
- Industrial experience in plastic injection and/or aluminum die casting and related reworking on aluminum die casting parts
- A number of years of experience through having held a comparable position in China
- (ideally) A proven track record of applying advanced cost engineering/ value analysis methods across different industries
- Experience in manufacturing, process control and ideally manufacturing process audit.
- Broad skill set in advanced continuous improvement method applied on vendors manufacturing processes (6S, Kaizen, LEAN, KANBAN, …)
- Intercultural competencies, self-starter and independent worker, able to juggle priorities, solid analytical skills, ability to define and understand critical issues, comfortable with conflicts and target-oriented working methodology
- Passion for cost reduction, strong performance orientation
- Well-founded IT-skills, sound ERP knowledge in engineering and production, excellent command of English and Chinese
- Experience and ability to work in a fast changing matrix environment and in an international team
- Committed to work for our Chinese plant in Dongguan on site
