Location: Putuo, Shanghai
Position: Optical R&D Engineer
Company is a leading designer and manufacturer of photonics equipment for research, manufacturing, and biomedical applications. Company is headquartered in Newton, New Jersey with over 1300 employees at manufacturing and sales offices in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, France, Sweden, Japan, China, and Brazil. As a vertically integrated company we design, develop, and manufacture our product portfolio of over 15,000 SKUs. Company was established in 2009, and is a fast growing center for sales, manufacturing, and R&D work.
A leader in the “optical laboratory products” industry, MNC is looking for an optical R&D engineer. Optical R&D engineers are part of MNC' R&D team in Shanghai and are responsible for the development of optical products (especially polarized optical products).
Ideal candidates should be familiar with polarization optics and electro-optic crystals, and have experience in the development of high-quality optical products.
This position will work closely with engineers from all over the world. There will be several opportunities each year to participate in optical exhibitions, or to participate in training or seminars in other branches.
Key Responsibilities
• Design and development of optical subsystems, including conceptual design, prototyping, and finished product design
• Conceptualization and design development of new products, including optical test bench prototypes, finished product packaging, and small batch tests produce
• Detailed electro-optic design, including laser and optics integration, electronic drive, external electronic/mechanical interface
• Develop test procedures to assist in the preparation of user manuals, training of production personnel and pre-sales service personnel
Training to ensure a smooth transition from R&D to production
• Provide technical support for production, marketing, and pre-sale service departments
• Project management including prototype trial and product development plans
• Optics or other engineering majors, master or doctoral degree
• 5+ years of experience in R&D and application of optical systems (including master/doctor/postdoctoral stage light Laboratory experience
• Deep knowledge of optics, especially in the field of polarization optics
• Rich experience in optical laboratory, familiar with optical structures, skilled operation of various optical instruments
And equipment (such as lasers, detectors, etc.)
• Experience in research and development of high-quality optical products that can lead the product development process
• Collaborative experience with multi-disciplinary R&D team
• Familiar with the operation of software such as Zemax, MATLAB (or GNU Octave) and LabVIEW
• Good at SolidWorks
• Fluent in English reading and writing
• Ability to judge and identify optical markets and related optical products
• Proactive, with good team spirit
